Worst Nightmare of Asthma came to Real Life! Here is my story.
Well, have you ever felt breathless or hopeless? Ever wondered what situation someone faces when they are not able to breathe properly? What if you can’t breathe properly? Sounds like your worst nightmare!
I faced this situation a few years ago. Asthma is a genetic disease; in my family, my grandmother had the same problem. Living with asthma is not easy; it troubles every situation in your whole life.
I was in 6th standard when I had my first asthma attack. Since childhood to till today that night was the most frightful thing happened to me and also, for my parents. Since birth, my immune system was very weak and I used to get sick very quickly.
Fever lasted three days and I wasn’t able to breathe properly because of heavy cough which troubled me with chest pain. Suddenly, my body began to sprout and I was choked. My heartbeat was also getting slow and I felt like my end was near. All things became black in front of my eyes and I knew that my worst nightmare of been an asthmatic has come to life.
My father immediately called the ambulance and we reached the nearby hospital. Doctors had given me a vaccination to control my heartbeat first, after that the doctor put nebulizer to control my breathing.
After taking nebulizer, my body temperature came to 102.0 degrees. My body was shaking badly. Moreover, my breath and my pulse rate were not in normal condition. I was still feeling breathless, after seeing my worse condition doctor gave me other vaccination to control my failing condition.
After that, I started to get some relief and my breath also started to come in control slowly. But the doctor gave me nebulizer all night, and after every 4 hours, the doctor gave me an injection too. I can’t forget that night for my whole life.
This incident still gives me goosebumps whenever I think of it!
I got discharged from the hospital after two days of this incident, but the doctor recommended that I had to take the inhaler pump at least 2 months regularly without any gap. Every 5 days for one month I was given injection and nebulizer continually.
